A Cowardly Ghost Hunter

eep within the attic’s corner
among the darkest shadows,
resides a dreary specter
refusing his final repose.

Strikes of the grandfather clock
resounds horror at midnight,
when the darkest shadows creep
to roam the halls with delight.

Each corridor, a usual journey,
as this ghostly figure invades,
recounting all his adventures
without use of natural aids.

He dwells within these walls
of his earthly past now gone,
dammed to rant and haunt
pending the crack of dawn.

No one left to terrify now
all the people disappeared,
this dreary ghost’s dismay
hauntings were once revered.

This evil specter chose a task
to draw inward a living sort
hasten to enter and dwell
and remain a haunted consort.

A sign now dangles on the door
before you dare enter inside,
make sure you have courage
and can put your fears aside.

“I am in need of help
to rid this place of it’s fright
and purge the ghostly pest
sending him into the light.”

“Should you be willing to assist
and need an app to apply
knock three times upon the door
and a ghost will soon reply.”

This trick suits his evil side
he couldn’t state this blunter
he didn’t want just anyone
just a cowardly ghost hunter.
If I had a Million Dollars

f I had a million dollars
I’d faint away for sure,
then owe about a thousand
to the ambulance for a cure.

If I had a million dollars
IRS would be at my heels
taking their full advantage
with no chance for appeals.

If  I had a million dollars
I’d get a view of the ocean
and build a very nice house
to hide from life’s commotion.

If I had a million dollars
I would buy me a pretty car
that would run on frying oil
ok, that would smell bizarre.

If I had a million dollars.
I’d buy a nice set of breasts
both upright and perfect
so my hubby would be obsessed.

If I had a million dollars,
I be less a ding-a-ling
with menopause and over 40
hmm, there’s no such thing.

So, if I had a million dollars
I’d spend each day and live
the very best I know how
and to other’s in need, I’d give.

s far as our eyes can view
across the seven seas;
we search to find that special place
a dream caught on a breeze.

Yet, in a moment it comes clear
the most special place in our heart,
can often be found no farther than
where we began from the start.
