Review for, “I kissed a frog and my prince forgave me.”

Couples often get caught up in the daily tasks of life and drift apart. After a time they find ways to mask the pain.  Some divorce, some run away, some find comfort in another.  Naomi Jo Rush, gives a detailed account of her life through infidelity in her book, “I kissed a frog and my prince forgave me.”

You not only dive headfirst into her inner most thoughts and struggles, but see her come to terms with infidelity, and the final outcome she must face.  In and excerpt of her poem “Hello Dear”, she provides a clear example of her desperate struggle to receive love from her husband and her dire sadness of rejection.

“Can you feel me?
I’m eager for your touch.
I tried to hug you earlier.
A kiss would mean so much.
It must be hard to take the time.
I’ll wait till there’s no rush.”

In this excerpt of her poem, “Explaining Why”, she gives a brilliant example of infidelity and the lies told to protect the ones we love even at the cost of our own happiness.

“What is really true?
I put my marriage on the line;
to save yours.
All because I loved you.”

She candidly shows you the struggles she endured living before, during and surviving infidelity.  This is a must read for all married couples.  Her poetry is filled with hurt feelings, anger, despair, betrayal, hope, love and the power of forgiveness.
